The research during the years of 2002-2014 has been lead by Professor Bergianus Birgitta Bremer, Director of the Bergius Botanic Garden and the Bergius Foundation and Head of Systematic Botany at Stockholm University.
Since 2004 all research at the Bergius Foundation is carried out in collaboration with Stockholm University. The focus of Birgitta Bremer's research has been on biodiversity in general and on the coffee family (Rubiaceae) in particular.
